Alison studied Music at Manchester University, followed by postgraduate studies in London and at the RNCM. She spent several years working as an orchestral percussionist, pianist and theatre musical director. During this time, she began composing children’s music and was commissioned to write songs for BBC Television and Radio.
When her own children were born, she decided to design a range of music CDs that would appeal to both young children and their parents, and so the ‘Let’s Go’ series was launched. CDs featuring Alison’s arrangements and original compositions are sold in leading high street stores and online.
Now working in primary music education, Alison writes songs and musicals for the children that she teaches. She is able to draw upon her experience as a professional musician to create music of character that is varied and appealing, which gives pleasure to performers and
listeners alike!
